All items are either seized as offence-related property or turned in by members of the public as found items. We are required to keep all items for 90 days (30 days for bicycles) before listing them for auction.
As stated in the auction rules, if you believe an item is your stolen property, please contact the Timmins Police Service Property Unit. If it is your property, we will return it to you. We will require a proof of ownership in order to give you the item (best proof is a serial number).
If the Timmins Police Service discovers an item is listed incorrectly, recalled, its rightful owner comes forward and has proof of ownership, or other important information about the product is learned, the Timmins Police Service reserves the right to remove the item and/or cancel any bids or transactions.
All items are for local pickup only. It is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder to make arrangements to collect any item they have won. The pickup location is the Timmins Police Service building at 185 Spruce Street South, Timmins, ON. You must schedule an appointment to pickup any items before attending the Police Service building. You can schedule an appointment by using the link provided in the email that you received telling you that you are the winner. Photo ID and the winning bid email are required at time of pickup.
All of the money collected during the auctions goes into accounts help by the Timmins Police Service Board. The proceeds from the auction fall under Proceed of Crime. Those funds, in accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA), may only be spent on specific projects as determined by the police board.
